Lloyd Andrus. Harry M. Hooker, 75, Benefactor of UR, Dies A funeral service Harry M. Hooker, 75, of Niagara Falls, a member, of associated family withose name University of Rochester since its founding, will be conducted today in Niagara Falls. Mr.

Hooker, retired chairman of the board of directors and former president of the Hooker-Electro Chemical Company of Falls, died in that city Saturday (Apr. 9, 1949). He was a native of Rochester. He was the grandson of Elon H. Hooker, who was a member of the University of Rochester's first board of trustees, and the brother of the late Elon H.

Hooker 2nd, a trustee of the university from 1916 to 1938. Harry M. Hooker was a member of the university's Class of 1894. In 1946 he gave the university an endowment fund of $50,000 to be used in the chemistry department. He was a direct descendant of Thomas Hooker, who founded the RIT to Present Diplomas to 206 A class of 206 men and women will receive diplomas tonight at the 23rd annual Management Convocation of the Rochester Institute of Technology.

The class, whose members represent more than 60 Rochester area business and industrial firms, will be honored at a dinner program beginning at 6:30 at the Chamber of Commerce. Principal speaker will be Thomas G. Spates of New York City, vicepresident in charge of personnel administration of General Foods Corporation. An internationallyauthority on personnel administration, Spates formerly was a technical adviser to the International Labor Office, Geneva, Switzerland. In addition te his association with General Foods, he currently is a personnel advisory counselor to the Atomic Energy Commission, the Department of the Army and the National Industrial Conference Board.
